Reactive people are quick thinkers who work well under pressure, and often exercise good judgment.

Those with reactive abilities are the best people to take charge in a moment of crisis or time sensitive needs as they are able to figure out a logical plan of action to get folks through a hard time.

Rather than being overwhelmed by a slew of possible future outcomes, reactive persons are able to focus on the here and now and make the best choice given the circumstance. This should come with a warning however because reactive people can also have a tendency to act before they think, which may take things out of proportion and could tunnel into ideas without looking at the big picture.

Not to mention oftentimes a lack of proactivity can result in much more work than if the problem had been addressed ahead of time or can result in overreacting as a result of a lack of planning.

Your reactive inclinations mean you are always willing to jump into action to help a friend or a loved one in need. Be cautious however of your emotional reactivity when in confrontational situations. Reactive individuals can often be offended easily and want to jump to defend themselves quickly or redirect blame elsewhere.

Independent individuals are often described as confident, open minded risk takers, and survivors.

Independent people tend to stick to their decisions because they are confident that they can follow through on them and are prepared to accept the consequences that may ensue. This willingness to be accountable for one’s own actions is a key element to the most telling characteristic of independence - self-respect. Just be mindful to not get so focused on self-respect that you get too caught up in your own ego.

 

Relationships

Be careful to not get too caught up in doing everything on your own that you put yourself in harm’s way. Remember it is okay to receive help - it doesn’t mean you’re not able to do it on your own, just that it might make your life easier if you do. Sometimes receiving help can even be a gift you can give others.

Career

Your independent nature is a huge asset to you in the workforce and some careers that would best suit your nature could include working in entertainment/media, consulting, purchasing, recruitment, research, education or entrepreneurship. No matter where you end up, your independence will enable you to find a way to be successful with minimal supervision or counsel.


Don’t forget that just because you can do something on your own, doesn’t necessarily mean you should. Sometimes being willing to share the workload could save you a lot of time, effort, and resources.
